Why AI can never be THE solution?

The frenzy around AI is diverting immense financial, material and human resources toward a narrative that has no tangible evidence behind it. Today, nothing demonstrates that AI meaningfully contributes to a sustainable future or to a concrete improvement of the human condition.

Nature of the dominant discourse

The promises attached to AI or AGI are mostly technological fantasies. They are more a product of marketing than of observable facts. This inflated narrative primarily serves to concentrate even more wealth and power in the hands of a few players, while deepening inequalities.

Real effects

1. Resources are pulled into projects with no proven benefits for life.

2. Pollution generated by AI infrastructures adds pressure to already critical ecological challenges.

3. The current dynamic accelerates existing problems instead of resolving them.

4. Attention is diverted away from what could genuinely support life and sustainability.

Conclusion

Any project that claims to shape the future must first serve life. As long as AI remains a tool without demonstrated benefits and driven mainly by a commercial narrative disconnected from the immediate and long term needs of living beings, it cannot be placed at the heart of a sustainable vision.
